Oberon, Inc., a leading provider of networking enclosure equipment, has announced the updated Model 1064-00 and 1064-T for use with Cisco's new 3500 series 802.11n wireless access points. Cisco's new 3500 series access points offer the most advanced capability for mission critical wireless networks. The 3500 series is based on the popular Cisco 1140 series access point's physical form-factor, greatly enhanced with Cisco Clean Air software and silicon technology. Oberon's model 1064-00 and 1064-T ceiling mounts have been updated to accommodate both the Cisco 1140 and, now, the Cisco 3500i access point.

The model 1064-00 or 1064-T is suspended from the ceiling's structural system. The mount looks like a standard 2' x 2' ceiling tile. The access point is inserted into the opening and locked in place using Oberon's patent pending locking mechanism. The installation is very clean and professional looking. Wireless coverage is ideal from the ceiling mounted position. Please visit the product installation video on the Oberon you tube channel by clicking here.

Most of Oberon's ceiling and wall mounting solutions will be updated to accommodate the new Cisco 3500i, 3500e, and 1260 wireless access points by June 1, 2010. Please contact your Oberon customer service representative for availability of mounting solutions for new Cisco products.

Oberon, Inc. has announced the publication of its GSA schedule catalog on GSA Advantage! The GSA schedule provides access to the company's full line of products, focusing primarily on its trademark wall- and ceiling-mounted wireless access point enclosures. By providing convenient keyed access to networking equipment without breaching air handling spaces, the enclosures offer an aesthetic way to simplify compliance with federal and medical market requirements and to improve network security.

The GSA schedule catalog was introduced to simplify government purchases of an expanding product offering. Several product additions have been announced in the last few months, including the introduction in late 2009 of Oberon's model 1070-00 telecommunications enclosure. The Model 1070-00 is a novel workspace telecommunications enclosure solution for structured cabling and Fiber-to-the-Enclosure (FTTE) deployments.

"By expanding product lines and increasing access to products via the new GSA schedule, Oberon has demonstrated a commitment to identifying and meeting customer needs in both the public and private sectors," stated Scott D. Thompson, president of Oberon, Inc., an 11-year-old privately held company based in State College, P.A. "The Oberon GSA schedule and product catalog on GSA Advantage! will simplify selection and ordering of Oberon products for federal and other government customers and their contractors."

Oberon's Model 1052-00 enclosure has been popular for use in mounting and securing the Cisco 1242 wireless access point. With many Cisco customers making the migration from the Cisco 1242 to the Cisco 1140 series 802.11n wireless access point, enclosure needs are likewise in transition.

Enter the 38-1052-ADPDOOR-1140, Oberon's new replaceable door for the 1052-00, designed to allow replacement of the Cisco 1242 with the Cisco 1140 access point. This field replaceable door aesthetically secures the Cisco 1140 in the same location using the same key as the Model 1052-00. The 1052-00 remains in place, allowing for cable management and termination.

The presentation of this new product represents Oberon's commitment to producing new products based on customer needs. It follows the introduction in late 2009 of the model 1070-00, the first Oberon enclosure designed to house telecommunications equipment other than wireless access points, such as Ethernet rack mounted devices - ideal for structured cabling and Fiber-to-the-Enclosure (FTTE) deployments.

Oberon's Model 1039-00 mounting solution for antennas provides an aesthetic, economical, convenient mounting solution for wireless LAN antennas. The mounting plate is similar to a conventional speaker grill with openings to mount wireless LAN antennas. The speaker grill is attached to a tile bridge, which supports the speaker grill, antennas, and, if desired, the wireless access point. The speaker grill serves as an excellent ground plane for up to four antennas. The product is designed to satisfy National Electric Code (NEC) paragraphs 300-22 and 300-23 for installation in the air handling space. The mounting solution can be used with Oberon's 34-ZDUAL, 34-DMDUAL antennas, 35-BULKHD-KIT-RPSMA(F) or 35-BULKHD-KIT-RPTNC(F) adaptors for dipole antennas (not included). Speaker grill is 12” diameter.
